A quiet road by Loch Caolisport, Argyll.
We met this dog otter trotting along the road on two occasions. A smaller one was feeding in the loch just over the wall.

A baby signal crayfish, about 3/8" (or a size
14 hook)
No 'fly' pattern well established for this creature,
though according to the keeper, trout often eat crayfish bigger than
this.

A few brown trout rising to them.

Trying to identify - If anyone knows, please email me
My first thought was Yellow May Spinner (Heptagenia sulphuria) BUT -
Suggested by Phil Bell-Scott:-
The fly looks like an Olive Upright Male Spinner (Rhithrogena semicolorata). I believe that the black oval shape in the middle of the top leg section is only present on the Olive Upright and March Brown (Rhithrogena germanica).

Willow
fly, Leuctra geniculata
(or so I think.
Needle Fly and Medium Stone Fly are similar)

Heather
fly, Bibio pomonae.
Very similar to the Hawthorn
Fly but more likely to be observed on Scottish lochs. Observe the
reddish colour of the upper leg segments - all black on the Hawthorn.
This is one of swarms on a heather moor near
Ullapool.

Water
vole footprints, River Swale near Gatenby.
I used to see these inoffensive animals every
time I went fishing. Now a sighting is rare.
